MLPP
MLPP is enabled on Avaya Aura, Cisco Unified Communication Manager, and Asterisk for calls between these switches and to PhreakNet only. Our other switches do not support this functionality.
Multilevel Precedence and Preemption (MLPP) is a telephony feature designed for critical infrastructure that allows authorised users to assign priority levels to calls, ensuring they go through even during periods of network congestion. If the network is full, the system will automatically terminate, or “preempt,” lower-priority calls to immediately free up resources for the high-priority communication.
PhoneNet operates an MLPP enabled backbone that allows calls to be placed with priority on some of our switches to demonstrate how it works. The authorised level depends on your user profile but the following levels are enabled on the network:

To place a call select the level on your handset (Avaya 9600 and J100 series) or dial the above feature code followed by the number.
Inbound calls with a priority will show an indication on the display or a prefix in the caller ID name depending on your telephone type.
You may verify that outbound calls are being placed with precedence correctly by calling the precedence verification service on 791-8099.
