Switchboard
The switchboard operator is your first point of contact on PhoneNet. To call the switchboard, dial 791-1111 or 1111.
What the Switchboard Does
The switchboard can help you to:
- Reach other PhoneNet users.
- Get directory information. You can also search the Directory.
- Place a call if you have trouble. For dialling procedures, refer to Calling on PhoneNet.
Operators
There are seven switchboard operators in different locations around the world. Volunteers staff the switchboard, so there are times when no operator is available.
When no operator is available, our virtual operator Ernestine answers. Ernestine can transfer calls, look up directory entries, and give basic information about PhoneNet.
What the Switchboard Does Not Do
For problems with your own service, contact the correct department:
- For technical problems, contact Tech Support.
- For new services and changes to a service, contact the Business Office.
