Community and Discord Rules


The following rules apply to users in the PhoneNet Discord and Community. They should be read in conjunction with our Acceptable Use Policy which applies to any users with a hosted line or office code on PhoneNet.

Users in the Discord server must also abide by the Discord Terms of Service and the Discord Community Guidelines.

  1. Be Respectful and Civil: Treat all members with courtesy and respect. No personal attacks, harassment, hate speech, or discrimination of any kind will be tolerated and may result in you being removed from without notice.
  2. Stay on Topic: Please keep discussions within the relevant channels. The ⁠general channel/category is basically anything goes, but the topic specific channels/categories should be kept on topic.
  3. No Spam or Self-Promotion: Avoid posting repetitive messages, irrelevant links, or unsolicited advertisements. We don’t mind the occasional post informing our users of a relevant Discord server or other community but this shouldn’t be the only reason you’re here.
  4. No Illegal Content: If you wouldn’t show it to law enforcement, don’t post about it here.
  5. Keep it Clean: We don’t mind the occasional swear word but please refrain from excessive profanity.
  6. Search Before Asking: Before posting a question, please take a moment to search the history as we may have already answered your question.
  7. Don’t DM mods unnecessarily: If you have a question where the answer could help other users on our server then post it in a public channel. DMs for phone system support may be ignored.
  8. Be Patient and Helpful: Everyone has different levels of knowledge. Be patient with those who may not have as much experience as you and offer assistance where you can. Remember - we all started somewhere.
  9. Respect Privacy: Do not share personal information about other members without their explicit consent. This includes names, addresses, phone numbers, etc.
  10. Minimum Age: The minimum age for using PhoneNet is 16 years old. Users who are found to be under this age will have their access terminated. If you joined PhoneNet prior to August 25, 2025 you are subject to the previous minimum age policy which was 13 or above.
  11. Drama Free: We aim to keep PhoneNet a nice place without drama. If you bring drama into PhoneNet we may remove you without notice.

Users on our Discord server must also abide by Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

Moderator Decisions are Final: Our moderators are here to ensure the smooth running of the server. If you have concerns about any actions taken please address them privately with a moderator or by email to community@phonenet.net.
